Meet Our Team
Colleen and Walt, wife and husband, love to travel both domestically and internationally. "Whenever we need to travel whether it be for sports, business or leisure, we especially try to make sure that there is a spa on premises at the hotel or close-by for us to experience during our stay," says Walt. "As avid spa guests at various spas, you realize what your likes and dislikes are in each," Colleen and Walt share. "I have always wanted to open a day spa that takes all of the likes from our experiences and have a place where guests can visit, relax, rejuvenate, take time for themselves, enjoy and be in a stress-free zone" says Colleen. Walter and Colleen reside in Haymarket, Virginia about 10 minutes from their Gainesville Woodhouse location. Walt has one daughter, Allison, and Colleen has two sons, Daniel and Gregory. Their family also includes their Boxer Buster and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Bear.

“'Home Away from Home' greets guests as they arrive in the driveway of a 37-acre getaway at the base of the Bull Run Mountains. The visitors are those who have served our country and have been gifted a private stay with their families at the place known as the Warrior Retreat.
Willing Warriors, the nonprofit behind the Warrior Retreat, provides cost-free stays and programs for recovering soldiers that are injured, disabled, or challenged by invisible wounds, such as post-traumatic stress disorder or a traumatic brain injury. Although acquired in 2013, the Warrior Retreat didn’t open until two years later. After a labor of love, and the help of more than 1,000 individuals and in-kind donations from contractors and building suppliers, a place for warriors to relax away from the medical center environment was born."
